#Visa, Permits and Fees
Tourist Visa
Travelers who are foreign nationality who intends to visit Nepal must have valid passport or travel document which is equivalent to passport issued by the government. To visiting a foreign country to apply for visa.
#Entry:
It is strictly prohibited to enter into and stay in Nepal without any valid visa. Tourist can obtain the Nepalese visa from Nepalese Embassy or Consulate or immigration offices located on entry points in Nepal.
#Visa Fee
1. Fee required to obtain Tourist Visa from Nepalese diplomatic agencies and entry points:
a. US $ 25 or equivalent foreign currency for Tourist Visa with Multiple Entry which valid for 15 days.
b. US $ 40 or equivalent foreign currency for Tourist Visa with Multiple Entry for 30 days.
c. US $ 100 or equivalent foreign currency for Tourist Visa with Multiple Entry for 100 days.
d. Regardless of the provision stated in 1 (a) and 1 (b), tourists with passport from South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) nations aren't required to pay visa fee for 30 days.
2. Fee to be levied for renewal or regularization of tourist visa
a. Nepalese currency equivalent to US $ 2 per day to renew the validity of tourist visa.
b. If multiple entry facility is required to be valid for the renewed period, additional US $ 20 along with fees prescribed in 2 (a) has to be paid.
c. Foreigner who have stayed here without renewing visa, need to pay Nepalese currency equivalent to US $ 3 per day along with the required extension fee.
d. Foreigners, who have already overstayed for more than 150 days without renewing tourist visa shall be levied the fees referred in clause 2(c) and a penalty of Rs 50,000 as per the Immigration Act.
e. Regardless of provision stated in 2(a), 15 days is counted as minimum extension period and visa fee is charged accordingly. For extension period more than 15 days, visa fee is charged as per the provision of Nepal.
Trekking Permit
Trekkers who are willing to travel to controlled areas in Nepal for Trekking. Trekkers need to obtain Trekking Permit issued by the Department of Immigration under the Home Ministry. Restricted Areas of Nepal required special permit in order to do a Trek. Individual trekkers cannot obtain restricted area permit. They have to join other Trekking Company to obtain permit.
The areas and required fees are as follows:
Dolpa District
a. Lower Dolpo Per week per person USD 10 or equivalent convertible foreign currency.
b. Upper Dolpo 10 days per person USD 500 and After 10 days per day per person USD 50
Taplejung District Per week per person USD 10 or equivalent convertible currency
Kanchenjunga Region Per week per person USD 10 or equivalent convertible currency
Upper Mustang For the first day 10 days per person USD 500 and after 10 days per person USD 50
Gorkha District From September to November per week per person USD 70 and After 7 days
a.Manaslu per person USD 10. From December to August per week per person USD 50 After 7 days per day USD 7.
b. Chhekampar & Chumchet VDC From September to November per person USD 35 for 8 days. From December to August per person USD 25 for 8 days.
Gauri Shankar and Lamabagar in Dolakha District Per week per person USD 10 or equivalent to convertible currency
Simikot and Yari in Humla district For the first 7 days USD 50 and after 7 days per day USD 7 or equivalent to convertible currency.
Thuman and Timure in Rasuwa district Per week per person USD 10 or equivalent convertible currency
Makalu Region For the first 4 weeks per person USD 10 and after 4 weeks per person USD 20 or equivalent to convertible currency
Everest Region
North West Area Thame to Nangpala For first 4 week per person USD 10 and after 4 weeks per person USD 20 or equivalent to convertible currency.
Manang District (Nar and Phu) From September to November per week per person USD 90 and December to August per week per person USD 75 or equivalent currency
Mugu District
Areas of Mugu, Dolpa,Pulu and Bhangri For the first day 7 days per person USD 90 and after 7 days per person USD 15 or equivalent to convertible currency
Bajhang District For the first 7 days per person USD 90 after 7 days per person USD 15 or equivalent to convertible currency
Darchula District For the first 7 days per person USD 90 and after 7 days per person USD 15 or equivalent to convertible currency
Notes: Regardless in order to obtain restricted area permit participants should join Trekking Company. Individual is not allowed to obtain permits.
Participants are required to pay trekking fee in USD. The Indian citizen can pay fee in Nepalese Currency.
