KATHMANDU VALLEY
The Kathmandu Valley is considered as the major political and cultural hub of Nepal. It has indispensable role in terms of formation as the first stop for the majority of visitors to the country. The History of the valley begins from Buddhist Saint Manjushree who slashed the surrounding hills to drain out the primordial waters which used cover entire valley. Over the centuries different Dynasty came and went. But in the late 18th century, modern Nepal was formed by Prithvi Narayan Shah the first King who unified Nepal and Gorkha Kingdom.

SWAYAMBHUNATH STUPA
An ancient religious monuments which watches entire area of Kathmandu Valley. Notably it was build between 5th centuries. According to mythology  after the water drained out from lake lotus was transformed into a hill and the flower became the Stupa. It is regarded most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage sites. Therefore its establishment is linked to the creation of the Kathmandu valley. It is listed as a World Heritage sites.

BOUDDHANATH STUPA
It is regarded as one of the largest stupa in the world which is located at 6 km to the east of down town Kathmandu. It is also known as a Khasti. It is believed that it was a ancient junction between Nepal and Tibet trade route. There are more than 50 Buddhist monasteries in the area. It has remained as a World Heritage Site.


BHAKTAPUR DURBAR SQUARE
The ancient historic place located at 13 km east of Kathmandu. It is called as a  the plaza of royal palace. It has remained as major tourist hub destination. The major attraction of these place is 55 Window Palace, Vatsala Temple, Statue of Bhupatindra Malla, Nyatapol Temple, Golden Gate, Lion's Gate and Mini Pashupati Temple. Bhaktapur Durbar Square vividly showcase the skills of Newari artist and craftsmen who build these unique place.

CHANGU NARAYAN TEMPLE
It is situated on a ridge over looking the Kathmandu Valley. Located at 12 km to the east of the city.
Changu Narayan Temple highly dedicated to the Hindu god Bishnu. It represents the craftsmen skills the temple is embellished with exquisite wood and stone carving. Therefore it is regarded as one of the finest and oldest specimens of pagoda architecture.

PASHUPATINATH TEMPLE
One of the most sacred Hindu shrines in the world. Located at 5 km east of the city. The phallic symbol of Lord Shiva. It represent highly craftsmen skill of richly-ornamented pagoda houses. According to mythology it is believed that temple was erected in 15th century.Devotees can be noticed taking ritual dips in Holy Bagmati river flowing beside the temple.

KATHMANDU DURBAR SQUARE
The courtyard of temples built in 12th and 18th centuries. It is a show case of newari art and craftmen ship over several centuries. Built in Licchavi period in the third century. It is protected as a UNESCO world heritage sites.
